 Stunning Logo

This logo is a blast to the 1980s with its shiny, glossy style, but it also has somewhat of a contemporary edge with how sleek and defined it is. "KurtExpress" is a portmanteau I created from my name and the word "expression", though I initially came up with the name by naming a train on a poster this, when I was a wee lad.

Into the Cathedral

In this piece, we were tasked with using the frame of an image to establish our composition. I decided to use a cave entrance, and added the concrete, brutalist arches behind these, curving the eye towards an unknown destination.

The Lady's Interest is Sparked

Using a stock image of a woman online, I mashed various effects, such as Fireworks, and a radiant, dazzling cityscape to create a visually bizarre art piece.

Contemplation

The illustration here is all mine, and of my own face, of course. The lyrics read "It's time to live. Don't hold back from your future." I wrote it to inspire myself through a difficult time with managing my life. I have thought of many ways of how I could improve this piece but I think it still has its own kind of subtle inspiration.

Spiraling

This is a stock image that I painted a figure over, and then used one of the filter modes to invert the colours against the sunny, naturesque architecture. Such a simple couple steps resulted in a dynamic composition framed by the spiralling wood.

Ethereal

One of my first submissions for the semester. A polar bear drifts through a heavenly sky, restful and at peace. The translucent icebergs bleed into the clouds, creating a dreamy setting.

Kurt

This is a picture of me, with various effects, filters and art color applied. The end result formed a rather stunning, Pop Art-esque Portrait that harkens back to Superhero comics, and reminds me in part of Persona 5's characteristic opening sequence. The radiating lines are of a firework with much of the core erased to preserve the vibrant colours I'm sporting.

PLANT!

This was definitely one of my favourite pieces to create. We used Adobe 3D Assets and I chose a plant as my model. From there, the creativity just flowed. And it got kind of ridiculous. The text is a bit illegible but reads "If you don't water it, it's gonna DIE." and "100% Certified Plant" with a definitely, totally authentic seal of approval.
