DISCRIMINATION
The Goal of DISCRIMINATION is the challenge of learning how to make better, more refined choices for yourself- growing in your capacity to say NO but mean it with integrity+honesty by first saying YES to something.

Discrimination means giving many chances & moving away from any conditions you have- for one to be rejectable, or for you to reject. As such, QUALITY is of prime importance to this goal.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NEGATIVE SPECTRUM
When Discrimination only focuses on -Rejection, it is sloppy/messy in its thought+expression- never considering the consequences of its choices, lacking any kind of calculated examination beyond jaded reasons & emotional bias,
and leaving others to sort through that outright rejection on their own.
You simply resign from and refuse to choose responsibly altogether because you don't want to make a choice or your choices seem unappealing/unclear. As such, you pretty much have to choose by default whatever "option" is left after rejecting everything else.
Rejection can also ensue when you experience a literal or symbolic rejection from others that leaves you rejecting them, or at the very least wanting to but not knowing how.
---
Rejection is always prompted by an inner extreme of
LOATHING, whether you feel this about the form you and other people/events are taking, or others feel this way about the form you and your choices take.
This then shifts into an outer extreme of
IMPOSITION, where you impose your lofty restrictions, demands & standards for rejection onto others- or confront the same directed to you from them.
Anything against your saying NO is met with hostility, excuses, defense etc., which comes to feel quite painful as nothing is ever embraced, allowed and comprehended.
SLIDING
When you fall into -Rejection, you begin to -Ingratiate, conforming yourself and others into positions and perceptions that are false and oppressive, just so you don't have to consider anything else. Or alternatively, feeling a need to force acceptance from you or others to counteract your/their rejections.
To move into
+Refinement, you must +Accept and say YES to something in what you're rejecting.
You cannot truthfully mean NO, unless you first say YES.
Per example, rather than rejecting an entire selection of grapes because a few are bruised, you would reject only those that are bruised, accepting the rest. To reject everything isn't responsible or refined.
---
You may also choose actions and experiences that help liberate you from your -Momentum of constant rejection; as when you do/think/feel more +Freely, this helps you relax and refine your reactions to life.
POSITIVE SPECTRUM
A shift into +Refinement means you rise above reactionary rejection when you say NO, and then bring clarity and sophistication to your acceptance so that you/others understand your intentions.
You determine and choose what of your available choices you resonate with by working through your personal processes to understand, clarify and question what your options are & why to choose or not choose them- with short & long-term consequences considered.
It could be said you find "the diamond in the rough" by consciously embracing some part of someone/thing.
So you Own your Rejection and then Discriminate it- thus pulling you into an inner sense of EXPECTATION, as you expect others (and life in general) will uphold their standards while you refine your reactions to them- or you let
others standards/presumptions push you towards adjusting and refining your own.
This then shifts into an outer extreme of
RIGHTEOUSNESS, where you either learn you truly are often RIGHT about your calculations, and uphold your refined standards while (sub)consciously shutting out insights, input and challenge to that- or you bump up against the same righteousness from others, creating an impasse where you question your own sense of right & how flexibly you uphold your standards for what's refined.
---
While these extremes uphold more responsibility for your behaviors and standards, they often are so preoccupied with sorting through the details, that you overlook/discredit the
Bigger Picture.
Full refinement and sophisticated choice-making comes when you sort through your decisions/options to inform your Process of Discernment about how you & all else affect both the small and big picture (both the circumstances and context, or the symptoms and root cause).
Through this scaling/shift in perspectives, you can then see where you care most about the overall state, health and condition of your body, self, life and relationships.
